Why Organic Skin Care?
You have probably heard this saying, or read it on one of my previous blogs: "our skin is the biggest organ on our body", and as such; it should be treated and fed just like any organ. Just because the skin is the outer protective layer, doesn't mean that it should be treated any differently than any other part of our body. Just as our inner organs respond to healthy organic clean eating, so does our skin.
The reality is that when we think about food, our perception due to our western culture, is to satisfy a craving instead of giving our body the nutrition that it needs through a balanced diet. Choosing ingredients that will nurture our body is the key to a wholesome healthy lifestyle, and when we choose our food based on knowledge and not just on an urge, we immediately start to enjoy the benefits of feeling healthy on our journey through life.
Knowledge Is Power
You have probably also heard the saying, "The Truth Shall Set You Free", but the true origin of this saying is: "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free". John 8:32, which is found in the Bible, stated by Jesus Christ (Our Savior). Notice how in the original it says ...and you shall know... it is the word KNOW that will produce true freedom. In our present culture it's impossible not to KNOW, especially with the technology we have, knowledge is at our fingertips.
This means that every time we make a choice, we must do it based on knowledge, because knowledge is what gives us success in everything we do. Just as we choose our food to nurture our bodies with knowledge, we must also choose our skin care with knowledge.
According to some studies organic food may be more nutritious than conventional food, Some studies suggests that an organic fruit or vegetable has two to three times the nutrients than that of a conventionally grown fruit or vegetable, due to growing practices. Organically grown food (how God intended it to be) is focused on the health of the soil to produce wholesome fruits and vegetables, while convectional grown food are Genetically Modified and Chemically Processed with Pesticides that depletes the soil from its minerals, which are vital for healthy humans, the future of farming and the health of the earth.
It is these modifications in conventional food growth that may cause health issues such as allergic reactions, cancer, digestive problems, skin disorders, diabetes, sleeping disorders, imbalances in hormone production, hair loss, low immunity and many other health issues.
As important as it may be to eat organic food for healthy bodies, it is also important to feed our skin, organic food rather than lather and apply a bunch of chemicals made in a lab to create a sensational experience, that maybe fixing some things but at the same time damaging others; since the skin absorbs about 70% of what it comes in contact with.
We must rethink and change our perception on skin care and be mindful of what we are feeding it, instead of depleting it from its nutrients.
